Product Description
Big Island's Own's "Hana Hou" says it all. A collaboration
with K-HAWAII "The Big Island 's
Rock", KISS FM, KAPA AND KIPA on the Island of Hawaii. Includes highly
requested
song by Walter "Boy" Tavares called Hale Halewai. Many original
songs like "Hilo, Ma Ke Kai"
written by JJ Ahuna and translated by his mother Elanor Ahuna in an effort
to keep it traditional.
Pekelo Day's "Ku'u Home O Kahuku is a mele wahipana speaks of
his home in Kahuku, kau on the
south side of the Big Island. It tells of the beauty of the land, from the
rise of the sun to the
famous winds that blow each day.
Hana Hou in Hawaii usually means the repeat of a favorite song that was
just performed, a chant
shouted by a grateful audience. However in this case it's another opportunity
to display
the musical talent of the Big Island, this compilation has no boundaries
in its original lyrics or musical
style. In fact Hana Hou also features singer-songwriters from all over the
world, young and old from
many different cultures that crate a musical journey. It is much like a
scenic drive around our island
through the rain forest, past the lava flows, and alongside the many ranches.
Just as varied as our
weather on the Big Island, so are the songs in this release. No matter where
you are right now,
fasten up your seatbelt or get to your favorite chair and enjoy Big
Islands Own Hana Hou.
