Joyboy Productions joined forces with Curtis Piligrin, president
of C.P. Entertainment, to bring
you the soundtrack to the upcoming DVD release of Divers – a Maui-made
film. The soundtrack
combines a fresh new style of Island originals – including reggae,
Hawaiian, rap, rock and classic
slack key sounds. Producer, musician and songwriter Curtis Piligrin, presents
three musical compositions
dedicated to the movie. A catchy reggae groove called Cool Island Music
is destined to become an
island favorite along with this inspiring and lyrically thoughtful ballad
entitled, Whatever Happened.
A heavier rock style song called Warriors, speaks about fighting negativity
with rough lyrics
and crisp guitar tracks to appeal to the rockers.
Also included in the soundtrack is gifted musician/songwriter
Brad Kahikina, bringing another
dimension in the musical journey. The classic island style is captured wonderfully
in his song
Moonlight on Maui, along with a tune specially written for the movie called
Paradise, which he plays
slack key. Hawaiian Blood is a tune that speaks of sovereignty with an upbeat
rhythm and a swinging
organ track. All three of Brad Kahikina’s songs were recorded and produced
by Curtis Piligrin.
Divers movie soundtrack also features singer Pito in three
classic contemporary Hawaiian songs -
Kaulana Na Pua, Queen’s Jubilee, and Waika - that adds island authenticity
to the movie and the
soundtrack. A young talented rap group, Assault Squad Riderz, performs The
Story and Dusk ‘til
Dawn. They bring their own unique flavor with these two songs to broaden
the musical venture
produced by Bernard Ganialongo, Jr.. C.P. Entertainment hopes to heighten
the anticipation prior to
the release of the movie itself on DVD, with this original soundtrack to
pave the way for new and
fresh things in the future for entertainment in Hawaii. The Divers movie
soundtrack, with its variety
of musical styles, has a little something for everyone.
