Product Description
New Hope Pearl Community was planted in September 2000.
One of our earliest visions has
been to use the power of music to worship and to outreach. For the past
year, we have
been developing a NHPC CD Project that has been so fortunate to move forward
rapidly through
the combined efforts of gifted musicians, an arranger and a sound engineer,
all of whom felt
the same call to create a CD of songs meant to praise Him and spread His
Word to others. At
the heart of this, our first CD project is a young songwriter and singer,
Trisha Nakamoto, who
has also felt His call to music and to share the joy and love she has experienced
in knowing Jesus
Christ. Our prayer is that the project continues to move forward, reach
others, and become a
source of comfort and joy to those experiencing trying times, while drawing
others into a first-time
or deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
A little bit about Trisha … Trisha is one of our talented worship leaders
who lead on both guitar
and keyboard. She has been writing music since being saved in high school
and attributes her increase
in musical abilities to the Lord. She graduated in 1998 from Pearl City
High School and is currently
attending the University of Hawaii. In 1998, she placed first in KCCN’s
Pride of the Islands II contest
in the female vocalist category, and recorded two songs on the resultant
CD. The same year, she
auditioned with hundreds of hopefuls and landed a spot on the nationally
televised Destination
Stardom show. Since then she has devoted her time to her schoolwork and
to serving on worship teams
and doing specials at various churches. Last month, she was interviewed
on KAIM Radio Station,
and has been receiving airtime for her recording of “Breathe”,
a very well known cover song.
Having heard many of Trisha’s songs over the past several years, and
seeing how her songs
touched our church members, we started exploring the possibility of producing
a CD. Through a
mutual friend, Tommy Walker (a well-known Christian recording artist), I
approached Dan Garcia,
who resides in Los Angeles. Dan is a nationally acclaimed sound engineer
and producer who have
worked with the likes of Crystal Lewis, Christina Aguilera, Steven Curtis
Chapman, Boz Scaggs, etc. …
And more recently, just worked with the Rolling Stones! Dan was deeply moved
by Trisha’s original
recordings and the heart of the CD in general, and graciously agreed to
work on the project. Through
his efforts, many others nationally recognized talented musicians were brought
onboard, such as
Greg Calvillo, James Raymond, and Shawn Tubbs. We are truly humbled, yet
joyous with the product
that their shared vision, love and work has brought forth to praise the
lord.
We pray that whatever your faith or walk in life, this CD will reach out
and help you find
peace and joy through the blessing of song.
