Since it’s debut CD, Island Surfer Girl, Pipeline Band
has established itself as a popular
contemporary Island Reggae band. Island Surfer Girl reached #2 on the local
record chart
lists, behind Israel Kamakawiwo’ole.
Pipeline Band’s second release, Shadow Reef adds a new and unique reggae
style to their
music – combining rock and alternative riffs. The first track, Ready
To Rock, reveals this style
and showcases Greg Amanonce’s original reggae rap. Stranger To My Eyes
and Need Your Love,
fall into the “Lover’s Reggae” style and display the vocal
talents of Troy Cacal. Fisherman
and Mr. Reggae are also standouts, which features Cacal singing reggae island
style. In addition,
Pipeline Band demonstrates its creativity and diversity in Such A Good Girl,
a catchy alternative
track with a light reggae drop. Soon I’ll Be Seeing You, an original
song written by Michelle C.
and Kelly Scott, is a beautiful slack key love song.
Amanonce, Michelle C., and additional band members complement Cacal with
strong vocals.
Award-winning songwriter, Kelly Scott (guitar) adds originals, while Craig
Murata displays
his talents on bass. Val Vasquez and Wayne Mezurashi both display their
talents on the guitars.
This album is produced by the talented award-winning producer Pierre Grill,
and Kelly Scott.
Pipeline Band has actively performed at nearly every major venue on Oahu.
