Musicians Bruce K. Willingham and Franklin Corpuz combine
their talents to bring you the
group Nanea. These two local boys, Bruce from the Island of Maui and Franklin
from the
Island of Oahu, now call Las Vegas home, but have never truly left the Islands.
NANEA is an example of what many “locals” away from the Islands
seldom lose, their love
of Hawaii. Desert Isle is a reflection of that love with a blend of traditional
Hawaiian and vintage
island contemporary music. Five original songs written by Franklin Corpuz
help bring this project
home. Including the title track, “Desert Isle,” inspired by Franklin’s
late sister Geraldine and dedicated
to her memory.
Other artist lending their talents to this new release include Gary Haleamau
(Lead Guitar, Bass),
Willie Lau (Ukulele), Martha Ancog (Keyboard), Katsumi Miyagishi (Keyboard,
Synthesizer),
Herbert Hanawahine (Steel Guitar) & Kaniaupio Willingham (Guitar).
What started as just an idea; has evolved into NANEA and the reality of
Desert Isle. In Franklin’s
own words: "I have gathered the best musicians in Las Vegas to make
this CD possible ... All of
this took six years to complete. I hope the Hawaiian folks and the Hawaiian
at Heart will enjoy my
