Product Description
Listening to a favorite song can bring back sentimental
memories of the days at
QueenSurf where torches light up the night and lovers
stroll along the beach. The sweet
melodies can be heard at the waters edge where
families and friends huddle to enjoy the symphony
of island music. Music, rich with feeling and emotion, that continues to
inspire new recordings by
todays artists. Na Hokupa is todays new harmonic group preserving
the artistry of the four-part
harmony with their unrivaled falsetto sound. Their love and passion for
excellences has motivated
them, much to my delight, toward resurrecting some of Hawaiis classic
music. Musical arrangements
by Paul Martinez, offers a touch of Latin jazz in songs like Nee Nee
Mai, Kuwili, and E Liliu E.
He also works his magic on some of my favorite classics such as Hawaii Calls,
Twilight In Hawaii, and
Lei Pakalana. Thrown into the mix are some familiar hula tunes like Makee
Ailana and Mahina
O Hoku. There is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. The band includes
the fine falsetto
voices of the Brothers Max and Mitchell Sanchez, the masterful guitar handling
of Andy Llanos, the
smooth rhythm of Dennis Apeles on drums, and Paul Martinez with his classical
ukulele styling.
These five musicians make up this extraordinary group. The creation of this
exceptional recording
comes directly from the heart, truly an unforgettable experience waiting
for you to discover.
