Product Description
Hiroyuki Sakai:
Outside of Japan he is known as the “French Iron Chef” on the
popular
television series, “Iron Chef” airing on the Food Network. Master
Chef
Sakai was also given the honor of preparing a dinner for national financial
leaders
at the January 2000 G7 meeting held in Tokyo, where he successfully coped
with
the requirements demanded by the occasion.
Master Chef Sakai has a very firm personal philosophy with regard to cuisine:
that above all,
the customer should be fully satisfied.
It is for this reason that Master Chef Sakai takes care to see that service
in his
restaurants is consummate; that the mood evoked by the surroundings is perfect;
and that all of the food products he produces are created with the same
philosophy in mind.
Master Chef Sakai’s groundbreaking Japanese-French style incorporates
Japan’s
finest cooking techniques while retaining the essence of traditional French
cuisine. His
dishes fuse the flavors of Japan’s four seasons with a French “esprit.”
His dishes are
often compared to paintings because of their exquisite detail and use of
color, thus earning
him the nickname “Delacroix of French cooking.” In addition
to his restaurants, Master
Chef Sakai has a successful line of baked goods and deserts that are available
in
department and convenience stores throughout Japan.
Hello Friends, Like many other people, Hawaii is my Utopia. My favorite
place to go
to escape from my fast-paced life in Japan. Everytime I visit Hawaii, I
am quickly
consumed by the Aloha Spirit. With each passing hour, I can feel my body
and soul
re-energizing and always return to Japan feeling re-freshed and ready to
tackle anything.
Something about Hawaii-the people, the beauty all around you, the music,
the culture-
has this wonderful effect on people. I have always wished I could bring
even a little of
that home to Japan with me, so my friends created this compilation of my
favorite Hawaiian
music for me to listen to when I’m away from Hawaii. A Taste of the
Islands-just enough
to wet my appetite and keep me coming back for more.
Enjoy,
Hiroyuki Sakai
