Product Description
Hailing from the Solomon Islands, Apprentice has risen to popularity with their
catchy melodies and unique “Pacific influenced” pop-reggae tracks. Formed in 1996,
Apprentice began their journey by releasing their debut album called One Resolution.
The album not only captured the hearts of many listeners, but immediately hit the
charts in PNG, Vanuatu, and Solomon Islands. The impact of One Resolution in the
late 1990’s was so incredible that it also attracted attention from many larger South Pacific
labels including the renowned Mangrove Productions in New Caledonia.
Through the years, Apprentice has released several hit albums with Mangrove
Productions proving that reggae is an ever-progressing music style in the Pacific.
Their latest project called “Skank with Feeling” was released in 2004 and it gained
instant popularity producing several South Pacific radio hits. Reaching listeners as
far north as Hawaii, “Skank with Feeling” sparked an interest with
the distinguished Sharpnote Records.
In 2007, Sharpnote Records announced that they have successfully completed
a licensing deal and will be releasing Apprentice’s newest album in Hawaii. The
project, titled Together We Stand, consists of several highly addictive and
irresistible tunes with vocals so similar to Big Mountain’s lead singer Quino.
The song called She Loves is the album’s most anticipated hit because of its already
proven success in the South Pacific. Its contemporary pop-island flavor is similar to
many local favorites, but stands out with smooth transitions and a highly infectious
melody. Say It and Skank with Feeling are also songs that grab you with their
friendly and inviting sound. Say It focuses on the joy of love and feeling like
there are absolutely no worries in the world, while Skank with
Feeling entices everyone to get up and groove.
The entire album has a smooth “Good feeling vibe” and it is expected
to hear these vibes live in Hawaii later this year
